Nishihama Beach

Nishihama Beach is located about a 10-minute walk from Hateruma Port.
This beach is also written as “Nishi-hama,” but “nishi” means “north” in the local dialect, and as such, this beach is located on the north side of the island.

Down the hill, the blue sea and pure white sandy beach spread out.
The one-kilometer-long white sand beach is comfortable to walk on with bare feet, softly wrapping around your feet, and it is pleasant just to lie on it.

Here you can feel the atmosphere of Japan’s southernmost island with all your body.
The emerald green sea is shallow and perfect for swimming.

The area near the pier at the far left is a good spot for snorkeling to see coral and tropical fish, but be careful when there is a swell.

This beach is representative of the Yaeyama Islands with its fine white sand and the unique color of the sea around Hateruma Island.
Its overwhelming beauty will take your breath away.

There are showers and changing rooms, and in the back there is a space to relax in the shade of an adan tree.
