This theme park is based on the nature and culture of Okinawa, and is filled with old houses, sugar mills, and kiln sites!
You will feel as if you have stepped back in time to the old days of Okinawa.
At the entrance, you will be greeted by young people performing the traditional Okinawan art of eisa (eisa drumming and dancing).
And in a century-old house with stone walls, there are classes in Bingata dyeing, indigo dyeing, and weaving used for Ryukyuan dance costumes, and Nanban pottery.
All of these classes take about three hours, so you can experience many different courses. You can take your finished work home to keep as a memento of your visit!
Another attraction is that they sell sugar made by boiling down squeezed juice of sugarcane made in the old-fashioned way.
And at the Hub Center, you can watch a video of a battle between a hub and a mongoose.
Ryukyumura has been selected as one of the 100 best sightseeing spots in New Okinawa, so it is worth a visit!
