Senaga Island is known as “the nearest remote island from Naha Airport. Currently connected to the main island by an underwater road, it can be easily visited by bicycle or on foot.
Since the island is adjacent to Naha Airport, airplanes take off and land overhead, and from the hilltop observatory, visitors can experience the power of the view as if they could almost reach out and touch the island.
In addition to hot spring accommodations, Senaga Island also offers entertainment facilities with a game center and batting center, as well as four municipal baseball fields. Camping, swimming, windsurfing, and other activities can also be enjoyed.
In 2015, Senagashima Umikazi Terrace, a comprehensive island resort incorporating natural scenery, opened, offering a beautiful Mediterranean resort-style chalk-white townscape that takes advantage of the hillside and allows visitors to enjoy an extraordinary experience while feeling the umikazi (sea breeze).
