Chatan Sunset Beach is located in Chatan Town in the central Okinawa main island, right next to the “American Village” shopping area.
As befits the Chatan-cho area, which is a center of youth culture, visitors can easily enjoy swimming in the ocean in between shopping trips.
Because there is a U.S. military base nearby, there are many American bathers, giving the beach an exotic atmosphere.
It is one of the best sunset spots in Okinawa and popular among couples.
The park is maintained as Chatan Park and is equipped with showers and changing rooms. Summer beds, parasols, and other supplies are also available.
Barbecues can be enjoyed with reservations, and there is free access to the adjacent swimming pool and hot tub facilities.
The beach has a homey atmosphere, with locals walking their dogs and chatting happily with friends.
It is also a great place for a date while watching the beautiful sunset.
