Ikei Island

A peaceful island with clean beaches for swimming and marine sports

Located in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, Ikei Island in Uruma City is a remote island that can be reached in about 25 minutes by car from Katsuren Peninsula via the underwater road through Heianza Island and Miyagi Island.

It is located at the most tip of the four islands surrounding Kinjo Bay, which consists of four islands.

The Ikei Ohashi Bridge overlooks the beautiful surrounding sea, and since there is a seasar at the foot of the bridge on the Miyagi Island side, taking pictures with the seasar with the sea in the background is recommended.

The island is surrounded by sugar cane fields and has a peaceful, remote island atmosphere.

Surrounded by crystal clear waters, Ikei Beach and Omari Beach are popular beaches where you can swim regardless of the tide and enjoy marine sports.

Along the coast, there are many oddly shaped rocks and cliffs, and it is also famous as a fishing spot.

The sunsets from the west-facing beaches are also beautiful. Why not take a walk around the island and enjoy the scenery of a remote island that has not been transformed into a tourist destination?
