Mission Beach, located in the northern part of Onna Village on the west coast of Okinawa’s main island, is surrounded by rocky shores and lush nature where mokumao trees thrive.
Unlike most beaches crowded with tourists, this is an American-style beach with a retro atmosphere, complete with blue-painted mobile homes, white-walled beach houses, and white decks.
It is also often used for filming movies and commercials.
As the name of the beach suggests, the beach is a secluded, private beach that has been released by a church on the adjacent hill and is not visible from Route 58.
The clientele includes foreigners and celebrity-style couples, and unlike most popular beaches, it is not family oriented.
However, marine activities and barbecues can be enjoyed.
It is a stylish American-style beach where you can enjoy the clear waters away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area.
