In the northwestern part of the main island of Okinawa, there is a pristine natural environment where beautiful coral reefs remain as if they were in a jewel box. One of the best places to visit is the Fukugi (fukugi) row of trees in Bise, located at the end of Ocean Expo Park.
You can take a sightseeing tour by buffalo cart along the road surrounded by large fukugi trees, which is very enjoyable!
The sea of Bisezaki, which spreads out after passing through the Fukugi trees, is a natural coast with almost untouched coral reefs, where many visitors enjoy snorkeling.
Beyond the crystal clear waters lies a small island sanctuary called “Meowgan,” which can be crossed on foot at low tide. At high tide, however, there is a current, so care must be taken.
In early spring, the rocks are covered with a thick layer of blue-green algae. Freshly harvested aosa with a rich smell of the tide is a delicacy that should definitely be tasted!
Once you pass through the rows of Fukugi trees, you will find yourself in a paradise full of fish swimming in the crystal clear ocean.
Moreover, it is a famous sunset spot, so it is well worth a visit even at dusk.
From Naha City, take the Okinawa Expressway and get off at the Kushida IC. Take Route 58, turn left in Nago City, and then take Route 449 to Prefectural Route 114.
Pass by Ocean Expo Park and walk past the “Fukugi (fukugi) trees in Bise” to the tip of the cape. About 2 hours by car
