Uppama Beach

A picturesque beach with a kilometer-long stretch of natural white beach

Nakijin Village, located in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island, is popular among resort visitors and photography enthusiasts because of its lack of large tourist facilities and abundance of nature.

Uppama Beach (Ohama Beach), the representative beach of Nakijin Village, is a natural long beach with a kilometer-long stretch of pure white sand, aptly named “Ohama,” meaning a large sandy beach.

As you pass through the uji fields to the shore, you can see a cape beyond the sandy beach stretching westward, and across the sea you can see the Kouri Bridge and Kouri Island.

The scenery is popular for its photogenic qualities. The sight of ferries passing between the beach and the island is also photogenic.

The beach is a private beach of the Resort Hotel Bel Paraiso and is well managed, and various marine activities can be enjoyed.
