Sesoko Island

A small island boasting a beautiful natural beach that retains a rich culture and history

Motobu Town is known for the Churaumi Aquarium and other attractions. Sesoko Island, located nearby, is a small island with a circumference of 7 kilometers.

Visitors can cross the 762-meter-long Sesoko Ohashi Bridge to get to and from the island, and the one-hour drive around the island makes it easy to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the remote island.

The name “Sesoko” means “holy place where God came from far away,” and there are many cultural and historical remains and facilities on the island, such as “Sesoko Do Teikun. The island also hosts exciting events and festivals.

There are several beaches on Sesoko Island, especially “Sesoko Beach” with its beautiful white sand and cobalt blue sea, which is also famous as a spot for viewing beautiful sunsets with a view of Mizuna Island and Ie Island across the sea.

2. By ordinary road only: National Highway No. 58 → National Highway No. 449, about 2 hours and 10 minutes
3. 35 minutes from the nearest Hukuda IC via National Route 58
