Kori Island, or “Island of Love,” in Okinawa Prefecture, is a small island with a radius of about 1 km and surrounded by emerald green waters.
In 2005, the Kori Ohashi Bridge was opened, making it possible to visit the island by car. Passing over the bridge will make you feel as if you are driving on the sea.
The Kori Circle Line also allows visitors to drive around the island, which has a circumference of about 8 kilometers, in about 10 minutes.
The most popular place on the island is Tinu Beach on the north side of the island, where Heart Rock, a heart-shaped rock created by the waves, is located.
It is known as Icanda Beach (a free beach) because of its small but beautiful clear blue ocean and white sandy beach. Tokay Beach is also nearby.
Of course you can enjoy swimming, but the sunset is also beautiful, so it is recommended for couples in the evening.
Heart Rock was formed by wave erosion over the years, and the two rocks overlap each other to form the shape of a heart.
The rock was used in a TV commercial featuring a popular idol group, and has become very popular.
Heart Rock is an interesting natural formation with three heart shapes: the first is a cute heart-shaped rock on the left side as seen from the beach.
The second is the two rocks that, when viewed in a straight line, look like a single heart.
The third is the space between the two rocks that forms an upside-down heart shape when viewed side by side, and the blue heart can be seen against the background of the ocean. However, at high tide, the heart is hidden and cannot be seen.
The path to Tinu Beach is a walk after getting out of the car at the parking lot, but be careful as the footing is not good due to the slope and rocky terrain.
Tinu Beach, a natural beach, is unspoiled and beautiful, with clear blue waters that show various beautiful colors depending on the weather and time of day.
Furthermore, since the Heart Rock is aligned with the northern ocean, the sun sets as it shines on the heart-shaped rock.
Visitors can enjoy the heart shape with the setting sun in the background, and enjoy the mysterious and spectacular view at sunset, which is beautifully tinted in madder colors.
